Welcome to Kamo High School's Environment home page!!

Kamo High School become an Enviroschool during May 2010.
We're currently in the process of publicising this and trying to create more interesting ways to do so. So welcome to Kamo High School's very own Environmental Wiki! I'm hoping that in a short while this Wiki will be very informative and provide any information that anyone is in need of... we're currently still in the first stages so bare with us for a while until we get things up and running.

To all Kamo High staff and students - if you want to be involved in any of our environmental efforts please feel free to join the movement - you're more than welcome. The Environmental Committee meets every Thursday in B1 at lunchtime (although this may change when school starts again in the New Year).

One of the many benefits of having a Wikispaces is that anyone can edit pages - share your own ideas, add links, upload pictures, change colours... get those creative juices flowing!

Would YOU like to be involved in Kamo High's environmental movement for 2011? First meeting is going to be next week - keep listening to the notices.

News Flash!

Kamo High is one of three finalists for the Northland E4E Awards 2010!

We have been nominated in category 4.)
"Community or Business-initiated Enterprise Award.
Awarded for projects or experiences in any of the following areas:
- Business Enterprise
- Social Enterprise
- Curriculum Enterprise
This award will recognise the commitment of a business or community organisation to engage with a school or schools, in order to develop an opportunity for students to be further engaged in their learning.
In general this will be achieved by providing a "real" experience linked to curriculum delivery that enhances students' appreciation of the importance of business and the community in New Zealand society, and show them the skills, attitudes and desire required to participate in it."
We were up against 'Learning for Life: Young Leaders Seminar - Elite Business Solutions,' and 'Year 12 Geography Farm Field Trip - Edwin Smith, JV Farms Limited.'
We didn't win, but hey! Well done, Kamo!!
